The cultivation of the almond tree is one of the most traditional cultures in Portugal, with a higher concentration in Trás-os-Montes, with about 70% of the total production.
Portugal has also privileged endapho-climatic conditions for the production of the fig, the most reputed one being the Pingo de Mel variety.
